Kokopelli Nirvana Self-Bailer

Improved self bailer with optional 3 point thigh strap system. A deck free packraft allows water to drain through the floor when it enters the packraft. Next to the self bailing design, the high volume stern and backbend support features the Nirvana.

As a selfbailer drain holes in the floor system allows water to drain through the floor when it enters the packraft. The inflatable floor with integrated seat insert provides extra buoyancy, and additional height to the paddler to keep them above the waterline of the craft.

The packraft package optional includes a 3 point thigh strap system providing a more responsive handling ability whether you are carving into or out of an eddy, surfing a wave or even rolling your packraft. Thigh straps are essential for the high center of gravity in a self bailer!

The advantages of a self-bailer over a spraydeck include quick entry and exit of the craft to scout rapids, the elimination to pull over to the side of the river to empty water out of your packraft, and a higher paddling position to allow deeper more efficient paddle strokes.

The high volume stern provides great buoyancy, leading to a low waterline and reducing water from pooling inside the packraft. The Nirvana self-bailer has only one main pontoon chamber. The inflatable floor is a second chamber.

A adjustable backband provides good coverage and support on the lower back and the deck free design allows to position yourself freely in the boat, regardless of height. Even small paddlers can have a great, snug fit. You sit centred and high, as necessary for a self-bailer, but controlled and stable. Next to the self bailing design, seating configuration is one of the best characteristic in the Nirvana.

The Nirvana self-bailer has a narrow trim, aggressive rocker on the bow, which has its characteristics in whitewater handling capability. The inflatable floor provides a rigid, edged bottom, great for carving into eddies and surfing your favorite hole. It makes a stiff boat over all and features high buoyancy to float off hydraulics.

Please note, a self bailer always remains a small amount of water in the boat, depending on the load. In direct comparison it is also some slower and slightly heavier than comparable packrafts with spraydeck. This is the trade off, given the advantages above.
