Back bands are borrowed from the kayak sector and are also used now in packrafting. Back bands are not a backrest in the usual sense. The lumbar support is more dynamic and flexible which is preferred by performance-oriented paddlers in white water.
The Alligator 2S, XXL and SB models may already have the attachment points (depending on the year of manufacture) but the back strap can be retrofitted to any Packraft, even for the front seating position in doubles, as the complete fittings are included (requires glueing).
