The facts speak for themselves: less than 1.5 kg, pack size in range of 1.5 L, but still robust - that's the Anfbio Alpha XC.
Ultralight and universal
XC stands for cross country, as the packraft is so light and compact that you can carry it with ease over long distances. The inner dimension provides enough space for an adult.
The boat has 6 tie downs (2 at the stern and 4 at the bow), which makes it possible to attach luggage, grab loops or a DeckPack.
We apologize for any discrepancies in the number of grab loops on some of the Pictures.
Slim and light design
The Alpha XC is also compact in its dimensions. Tube diameter tapers to 25cm on the on the side, while bow and stern (symmetrical) have a diameter of 38cm to ensure the necessary buoyancy. The parallel hull has a total width of 84cm.
The inflatable seat that matches the boat is available separately. To save weight and space, this can be replaced be by pieces of luggage (or similar dry bags, sleeping mats).
Material and workmanship
The Anfbio Alpha XC is made of special fabric (210/420 urethane nylon), which has a high tear and abrasion resistance despite the low weight. In particular, the smooth and shiny surface of the tubes coating is very scratch resistant.
All seams on the boat are welded, the tube seams are additionally sewn. It is a completely glue free construction. This saves weight and costs! We grant an extended 3-year warranty on materials and workmanship.
Application
The Alpha XC is the pocket-sized boat. A true go anywhere anytime boat for those who value portability; ideal for hikes to high alpine lakes, calm rivers, fjords and those secret ?shing spots. As well as being small in size, with the seat ?tted it is also comfortable on longer river ?oats!
The low weight and the small pack size make the Alpha XC particularly interesting for long distance trekking. Of course, it is also suitable for:
- easy river travel
- classic packrafting trips
- trekking with crossing rivers
- expeditions and adventure races
- spelunking and canyoneering
- alpine lake ?shing
- geocaching
Since the model does not feature a spray skirt and has a smaller tube diameter, it is not recommended for whitewater (max. class 1).
Use
The boat is paddled kayak style and is inflated with a big nylon inflation bag, which attaches to the boat via a screw-in valve.
No inflatable is indestructible of course, but in the (unlikely) event of sustaining damage, repairs can be done within a few minutes in the field with Patch`n Go, which bonds permanently to the urethane surface. Small pinholes can be sealed with Aquasure, a liquid urethane sealant.
