The Anfibio Performance BackBand made of solid foam is an alternative to the inflatable backrest, which is characterised by its versatile adjustment options. With a total of four straps, the backrest can be pulled tightly against the back, allowing good lumbar support and control of the boat. The lumbar support is dynamic and flexible, which is particularly favoured by performance-oriented paddlers. The two rear elastic straps allow the backrest to be tensioned backwards, keeping the BackBand upright at all times. Those can also replaced by solid straps for even tighter tension.
The foam and the backrest itself is stiff enough to provide support while still allowing the backrest to be folded for transport. To use the Anfibio Performance BackBand in the packraft, two attachment points (D-rings, ladder buckles, GrabLoops, Daisychain or similar) are required on each side in front of the backrest and one attachment point (for the elastic strap) behind it. These are already present in many Anfibio models (see data).
To retrofit an Anfibio Performance BackBand in a boat without mounting options, we recommend the following: In front of the backrest, a total of four Anfibio ladderlock tie downs are glued (two on each side). Behind, glue two Anfibio Strap Plates (one on each side) or two more Anfibio ladderlock tie downs (not part of the tie down set).
