Since 2013 in use we are increasingly confindent for application of the Anfibio Buoy Boy. Over the years it has proved to be a useful addition to packrafting adventures of all Kinds.
Our Anfibio Buoy Boy inflatable vest has been designed specifically for the space- and weight-conscious packrafter. Weighing just 340g (S/M) and rolling up to just a litre in volume, it is one of the most compact floatation aids around. It was developed for combined land-water tours to ensure high buoyancy and comfort.
Use
The Anfibio Buoy Boy is designed and manufactured for amphibious activities (e.g. packrafting, swimtrekking, wildswimming) or corresponding products (backpacking boats/packrafts). The vest primarily excels on river trekking, mountain lake floats and general land - water travel. As a flotation device it provides buoyancy support and comfort for swimming. The Anfibio Buoy Boy is characterised by its minimal pack size and thus simplified transport (e.g. in a backpack).
Contrary to the 'boy' in the name, the vest is of course not only suitable for men, but also for women!
Construction
The vest features two chambers inflated by easy-to-use spring-loaded mouth valves; which can be used while worn.
The inflated chambers reach around the upper back while the lower back is composed sandwich mesh which rests much more comfortably against a typical backrest.
The jacket is fitted with a chunky front zip backed up by a waist clip, and also benefits from a crotch strap which stops the jacket riding up. The Buoy Boy’s short cut design and baffled air chambers provide excellent freedom of movement and the location of the air chambers (chest and neck) enhances good swimming position in the water.
The colours are clearly visible in natural surroundings. Practical features such as the two large, spacious mesh pockets additionally simplify handling.
Zippered pocket (optional)
The Anfibio Buoy Boy is available with an additional zipper on the left mesh pocket. The zipper protects water-resistant items such as keys, pocket knives or similar items from getting lost. The internal loop can be used to additionally secure items.
Disclaimer
Due to an individual’s possible variation in inflation levels, the Buoy Boy’s buoyancy can vary, thus eludes from any standardization or definite declaration. In extreme cases, the user may simply forget to inflate. The correct function is therefore the personal responsibility of the user. Special reference is made to the operating instructions supplied.
The vest does not provide guaranteed protection against drowning. It is not considered a certified buoyancy aid or life jacket in the sense of an EU Directive-compliant personal protective equipment (PPE).
