Thigh straps
Webbing-hooks are commonly used to connect thigh straps laterally (to the side tubes). The G-buckles can be hooked onto the daisy chain to suit the position of the knees. For the purpose, the plastic version is lightweight, sufficiently strong, and can be securely fastened. The metal version can withstand higher forces, especially a combat roll (to recover capsizes). However, the strap may slip slightly when threaded. A double loop can avoid this but makes it more difficult to adjust the length.
Back rests
As a spare part and alternative to O-rings and ladder locks for the front and rear tensioning of backrests and thigh straps, the metal version is generally preferable. Since the straps are tightened at the backrest or thigh strap attachment points itself, they can simply be returned via a G-buckle (without tightening or slipping). This may also reduce the number of attachment points required for the front tensioning of backrests with two straps, as the buckle has two slots.
Accessories
These hooks can be fitted with any other 25 mm wide straps to attach them to loops, slots, tabs and plates as universal accessories and luggage fasteners. The hook is attached at the desired position, and the strap is fed through the slots and tightened. Depending on requirements and characteristics above, either the plastic or metal version can be used here.
