The Anfibio MultiBag is primarily designed as a robust dry bag (or water container/dispenser):
- placed directly on the bow of the boat
- stowed directly inside the boat
- for compressing gear
- hanging from a tree at camp
- even as a shower, if necessary
Thanks to the special roll closure with a TPU film at the top, the MultiBag remains reliably airtight when rolled up. If the TPU film is also lightly moistened on the inside before the roll closure is sealed, this provides an additional seal.
As a seat
The Anfibio MultiBag can be used as a seat in a packraft. To do this, fill the MultiBag with soft, durable gear (spare clothing, sleeping bag, sleeping pad—no hard or sharp objects) and roll it up as usual. The valve allows you to adjust the volume or compression. This is particularly useful on ultralight adventures, as it eliminates the extra weight (and space) of a separate seat.
To use it as a seat, simply position the MultiBag in the designated seating area of the packraft and, if necessary, secure it to a strap on the bottom of the boat using a snap hook or ladder strap. To do this, the MultiBag should be filled sufficiently—but not excessively—to achieve the desired seat height. Ideally, this results in a flat, firm seating surface; the MultiBag 60L model has proven particularly effective for this purpose, though the 40L model also works well, depending on the boat model.
As a footrest
The Anfibio MultiBag (especially the 40) can also be used as a customizable footrest. To do this, roll the closure in slightly further than usual. This allows for effective lengths between 10 cm and 30 cm. This shortens the interior length of the packraft accordingly.
The MultiBag footrest is simply wedged to the front section of the packraft or secured to existing or retrofittable loops using a snap buckle or ladder buckle. Your feet rest on the MultiBag, which provides a more comfortable paddling position thanks to the back pressure and the wider footrest surface. In whitewater, a footrest also provides greater control over the boat, as, for example, the knees are bent more and the thigh straps provide a better fit.
The ability to store gear (e.g., spare clothing or shoes) dry and secure inside the packraft is retained. Before the trip, items such as these can be stowed inside.
As a Pump (MultiBag Air only)
The MultiBag Air is compatible with Anfibio Packraft valves. It can be used as an inflation bag or pump and is connected directly to the Anfibio Packraft valve using the included adapter tube.
The pump function is intended as a backup to the standard inflation bag or an electric pump, but in some cases it can completely replace the hand pump.
Due to its design, inflating the boat is less efficient than with the Anfibio inflation bag included as standard. However, its more robust construction allows it to build up the necessary pressure.
